Thesis Title

An application of the Hydroriparian Planning Guide in six British Columbia coastal watersheds.

Sara came to the School of Resource & Environmental Management with a background in forest and stream ecology through her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Victoria, and diploma in Coastal Integrated Resource Management from Northwest Community College in Prince Rupert. Sara's research investigates the application of the Hydroriparian Planning Guide, an ecosystem-based management approach to conserving properties and functions of hydroriparian ecosystems during land use. Sara is using GIS to map hydroriparian features identified at the watershed scale and compare how variations in watershed size, gradient, hydrology etc. affect the area of identified hydroriparian features.
